School Fun Fair Rental Guide for Hamilton Schools
Running a fun fair, carnival day, or year-end celebration at a Hamilton school? This is the step-by-step walk-through we use with parent councils across HWDSB and HWCDSB schools — how many stations to book, what pairs well together, how to staff it, and what to expect on delivery day.
We're Regis Event Rentals, a local family-run company based in Stoney Creek. Delivery is our base service; setup and teardown are optional paid add-ons.
Step 1 — What a fun fair actually needs
- Station games: 6–12 carnival and lawn games spread across the yard or gym.
- A headline attraction: a bounce house or inflatable pulls the crowd in.
- Refreshments area: 2–3 banquet tables for hotdogs, drinks, and bake sale.
- Check-in / ticket table: 1 table near the main entrance.
- Seating: optional — a few chairs near shade or the food area for parents.
Step 2 — Station ideas that work
- Ring Toss, Hit the Bucket, Can Smash, Duck Hunt, Balloon Pop — classic carnival games.
- Giant Jenga, Cornhole, Giant Connect Four, Washer Toss — lawn games that work for any age.
- Bounce house or interactive inflatable — see options.
- Claw machine or arcade game — see interactive games.
Step 3 — Size it to your school
- Small (up to 150 students): 5–6 stations, 1 inflatable optional.
- Mid-size (150–350 students): 8–10 stations, 1 inflatable.
- Large (350+ students): 12+ stations, 2 inflatables, plus a claw machine or arcade unit.
Add 20–30% to station count if parents and siblings are invited — the crowd doubles fast.
Step 4 — Volunteer plan
- 1 volunteer per game station (2 is smoother — one to run, one for prizes/line).
- 1 attendant per inflatable at all times (non-negotiable).
- 2 people at the check-in / ticket table.
- 2–3 floaters for refreshments, restocking prizes, and breaks.
Step 5 — Delivery day timeline
- 2 hours before: we arrive, drop games/tables at stations, and set up inflatables.
- 30 min before: parent council sets prizes and tickets at each station.
- Event start: volunteers take their stations.
- After close: we return to pick up. Chairs/tables/games can be stacked at the drop-off point.
Delivery, setup, and teardown
